SLG's Objective

The Supplier Liaison Group which shall be composed exclusively of manufactures, suppliers and distributors within the telecommunications industry who will act in an advisory capacity and provide liaison between the supply sector of the industry and the CTCA.

Why Become a CTCA Supplier Liaison Group Member?

Many providers of telecommunications products and services work with consultants, as a major revenue source. Customers retain consultants to help with planning, strategy, developing RFP's, pilots, contract negotiations, project management and vendor selection.

To be pro-active with the consultant community, suppliers need to build relationships and educate consultants about products & services. Large organizations have Consultant Liaison Program (CLP) managers and support resources focusing on consultants. Many other telecommunications suppliers focus on marketing through channels or addressing a specialized niche market and are missing the opportunities available through consultants.

The Canadian Telecommunications Consultant's Association (CTCA) also provides a forum for vendors to meet and partner on joint ventures in the form of coopetition. The rapid pace of the Internet age requires many companies to think 'out of the box' to be successful.

The CTCA welcomes all telecommunications providers to join, and leverage a growing membership of prominent consultants to understand and consider their products and services. CTCA consultants all pledge to be 'independent' of suppliers, they do however need to know about all products that are appropriate for clients.

The CTCA recognizes that there are alternatives accessing consultants. Companies draw consultants to websites; distribute mass marketing material, or host seminars & events. However, nothing compares to the results of CTCA Supplier Liaison Group (SLG) members in building consulting relationships by participating at CTCA local events and conferences. The CTCA's mission is to build lasting relationships by knowing who does what in the Canadian consulting industry, developing mutual trust, and improving consultant's product and service knowledge. The CTCA's low membership dues and conference costs makes joining the CTCA excellent value for any telecommunications provider working with consultants. Quoting our American sister association, the Society of Telecommunication Consultants, 'you can't do that over the phone'!
