John is actively involved in prominent information security organizations. He has been a lead instructor for the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC2 - http://www.isc2.org) since 1999 and travels world-wide on training assignments for ISC2 where he coaches candidates for the CISSP certification process.

John is also invited by The Infosec Institute and ISC2 to train candidates for the CISA and CISM designations. http://www.isaca.org and http://www.itgi.org

Current assignments include assisting clients in achieving compliance with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard (DSS) which requires a detailed infrastructure evaluation and management process renewal in accordance with the PCI-DSS Version 1.1 standard documentation to be found at https://www.pcisecuritystandards.org/tech/index.htm

John, first and foremost, is a management consultant with over 30 years in the telecommunications and information systems industry sectors. John delivers results based management and technology consulting and is consistently recognized for value-added performance in his assignments. His network planning, network design, capacity planning and audit activities focus on telecommunicatons and information technology convergence with an emphasis on business issues related to culture and change management.

Many of his assignments have involved high level project management for complex IT upgrades and migration from legacy systems. A current assignment involves development of an IT governance model for the Credit Union environment.

His background includes technical, operational and executive management in multi-national enterprise environments with hands-on experience in leading main-frame, mid-range and desktop technologies and services.

Additional experience in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Emotional Intelligence (EQ) strategic positioning brings a human element to many of these consulting assignments.

John is active in the CTCA, the USA Society of Telecommunication Consultants (STC) and a number of information security related organizations. John is a member of the Past Presidents Council of the CTCA.

John is resident on Mayne Island in the Gulf Island chain off of Vancouver BC and is always looking for ways to collaborate with other consultants... John's partner, Thomi Glover, is a certifed professional coach and leadership consultant as well as a CMC.
